Faculty & Research

Faculty members at DGI generate knowledge through cutting-edge research in all functional areas of management that benefit public and private sector companies, and government and society in general.The faculty includes acclaimed scholars and award winning professors drawn from all management disciplines. The blend of faculty, academicians, researchers, and professionals with their fund of managerial and technical expertise gives DGI a unique professional standing in the whole region. Library-cum Information Centre

The Library at DGI being a very important organ of the education system and is the hub of all activities. Its collection comprises literature pertaining to Business, management apart from other allied areas and architecture. Its collection development policies and information services are mandated by Institute’s teaching; research and training objectives. All housekeeping operations are automated using State – of – the- art – library management system. The library has the international collection of over 5000 books under 1000 titles. In addition, it subscribes to more than 100 journals, magazines and newspapers. The library subscribes to Indian and foreign journals- including e-journals. In addition to the central library, there are four departmental libraries.

Labs & Experimentation Units

The School of Architecture at the DGI exposes students to the social-cultural, environmental, formal, and historical factors that shape the built environment. Students develop visual literacy by thinking through the design process in studios and workshops, by researching historical precedents, and by analyzing theoretical texts and the physical environment.

Knowledge rendered is purposeless without application. We don’t learn perfectly unless we experience properly. Thus, to facilitate the practical implementation of theoretical learning, our premise is equipped with state of the art laboratories.

We actively cater to the needs of the students making use of the latest equipments and instruments available for experimentation. The safety of our students, faculty members and the laboratory staff who maintain our laboratories is an important concern for us; hence, all our laboratories have been constructed with care and caution and we followed all the requisite guidelines prescribed universally for our various laboratories.

Hostels

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. Each hostel block at DGI has dining facility. The mess is the place where maximum student interaction takes place. Each mass is spacious and has very comfortable dining furniture. At DGI, the student committee decides the menu according to which meals are prepared and served. The hostels are equipped with outdoor games like volleyball, basketball, cricket, football, etc. Wi-Fi connectivity is available for all students. Air-conditioned rooms are available on request. Separate faculty for hostel students, 24×7, all throughout the curriculum is dedicated throughout to ensure better performance of students.

ANTI-RAGGING POLICY

AICTE / UGC Regulations as per the Directives of the Supreme Court

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts as per the AICTE / UGC act:

  • Any conduct by any student or students, whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student;
  • Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students, which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student;
  • Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student;
  • Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher;
  • Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students;
  • Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students;
  • Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
  • Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student;
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student

PUNISHMENTS

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offense as established, the possible punishments as per AICTE / UGC Section 9 for those found guilty of ragging at the institution level, shall be any one or any combination of the following:

  • Suspension from attending classes
  • Withholding / withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process
  • Withholding results
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc
  • Suspension / expulsion from the hostel
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution
  • Fine ranging between Rs. 25,000/- and Rs. 1, 00,000/-

Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential reader.
